Yes, it is a Kander & Ebb musical and we're big fans of it. However, we aren't just doing that show over and over. We've got big plans at The City Cabaret OKC and we want you to be a part of them.
Wikipedia defines the art of cabaret as a form of entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation or drama. It is mainly distinguished by the performance venue, such as in a restaurant, pub or nightclub with a stage for performances. The audience, often dining or drinking, does not typically dance but usually sits at tables.
We do not perform in a restaurant or pub, but in a theatre. Food is not available, but a cash bar is. You will sit audience style and be swept away by some of the city's best musicians performing music inspired by a variety of themes. An evening at The City Cabaret OKC is dazzlingly entertaining and available for a reasonable price.
Is it Burlesque? Strip tease?
No. None of us take off our clothes at The City Cabaret OKC. There are people in town who are very good at the art of burlesque and striptease and kudos to them for it. But we prefer to remain fully clothed and wow you with our voices, musicianship, fabulous arrangements, emotion and humor.
What does Cabaret look like? What can we expect?
Below is a good example of what we are striving for at The City Cabaret OKC. Fabulous singers, interesting mashups/arrangements, heartfelt performances...the list goes on. Fully clothed, Kander & Ebb or not, we want to share a musical moment with you.
Unfortunately Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes will not be performing. But maybe...one day...
